Appliance repair-cost ranges with visible assumptions
Use these ranges to prepare for a quote, not to diagnose a component or predict the final bill. Every published range is checked against at least three UK sources from two or more source classes.
How the ranges are built
- 1. Match scope. We separate broad engineer visits from named component repairs.
- 2. Check inclusions. Call-out, labour, VAT, parts and return visits are recorded where the source states them.
- 3. Keep uncertainty visible. Where sources package costs differently, we publish a broad range and do not invent a parts split.
- 4. Recheck material changes. Verification dates reflect the evidence check, not an automatic freshness rewrite.
Before comparing cost
Check the warranty and exact model for safety notices. A recall or corrective-action programme may provide a manufacturer route and can make an ordinary paid-repair comparison inappropriate.
